I was the first one to wake up from the cryogenic chamber. I could feel my balls up my stomach and it ached everywhere.

“Greetings,…, Quentin. I am Computer! Your all purpose autonomous assistant! It is currently 3:00 a.m, 1002050 A.D. We have 3000 cores remaining till the life-support operations on our facility end.” the speakers blared in a voice that seemed too human.

“What”

“Greetings,…, Quentin. I am Computer! Your all purpose autonomous assistant! It is currently 3:00 a.m, 1002050 A.D. We have 3000 cores remaining till the life-support operations on our facility end.”

“Say the year again”

“It is currently 1002050 A.D.. Checking self awareness. Please repeat your full name and data of birth.”

“Quentin, September 2047.” If the voice is right, I am running out of time.

“Name a European country known for it’s cuisine”

“United Kingdom” I tried to remember what taste felt like but all I could feel was a metallic feeling in my mouth.

“Wrong. Please try again. The MRI scans show a normal brain activity in the hippocampus. Might I suggest,…, thinking harder.” They had managed to add sass in the voice.

“Italy?” Always wanted to go there. One day.

“Correct! Testing intelligence. Describe the hybridization of the oxygen atom in H2O molecule and the resulting geometric arrangement of its electron pairs.”

“sp3 hybridization with a tetrahedral arrangement” I had no idea why I knew the answer to that question.

“Correct!”

“Now, we are running late on the projected timeline. Quentin, we have important tasks do discuss, kindly get ready at the showers and wait for the induction.”

My memory was still vague, it felt as if the last time time had I opened my eyes I was still a kid. I looked at the extremely descriptive signs that had been put up around the station seemingly on purpose.
